Serves:

4 Servings

Ingredients

4x Mick's Meat Barn Cattleman's steaks
6 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thick strips
Olive oil
Vegetable oil, for frying chips
Mixed salad greens
Cherry tomatoes, halved
Red onion, thinly sliced
Cucumber, sliced
Your favorite salad dressing
Salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation

For the Chips: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 180°C. Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown and crispy. This should take about 4-5 minutes per batch. Remove the chips from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Season with salt while they're still hot.

For the Steak: Preheat your barbeque or a skillet over medium-high heat. Rub the steaks with a bit of olive oil, and season with salt and pepper on both sides. Cook the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred level of doneness. Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

For the Salad: In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, cherry tomatoes, red onion slices, and cucumber. Drizzle your favorite salad dressing over the salad and toss to coat the ingredients evenly.

Plate the steaks alongside a generous serving of crispy chips. Place a portion of the fresh salad on the side. Serve immediately, and enjoy your delicious Cattleman's steak with chips and salad!
